  • Penny Drop is a trademarked Creative Crafthouse wooden dice game made in our Hudson, Florida workshop. Players roll the die, place a penny into the matching numbered slot, and try to be the first to get rid of all their pennies.

  • Penny Drop works well for mixed ages and plays with 2 or more players. All ages, adults, and grandparents can all share the table. Rounds are short, so it's easy to rotate players in and out as the game goes.

  • No. Each player provides their own pennies, usually 10 to 12 to start. The box has internal storage so pennies and the die can stay together between games. You can also use similarly sized tokens, playing pieces, or chips.

  • The box includes the wooden Penny Drop game board, a handmade wooden die, & a printed rules sheet. The board has numbered slots and an internal storage compartment. Pennies are player-supplied. The Travel Edition features a lift off lid with storage.

  • Every Penny Drop game is made in our Hudson, Florida workshop. The handmade wooden box and engraved details give it a keepsake feel for holidays, birthdays, host gifts, family game nights, cabins, lake houses, and grandparent gifts

  2. About Creative Crafthouse

    Creative Crafthouse is a family-owned maker of wooden puzzles, brain teasers and games, founded by Dave Janelle in 2003.

    We make everything from wood puzzle boxes and packing puzzles to cipher wheels and family dice games. The Janelle family and our team work together in our workshop in Hudson, Florida.

  3. Meet Dave, our founder

    I'm Phil, and that's my dad, Dave Janelle. He started Creative Crafthouse back in 2003 and still designs puzzles for us today.

  4. How did we get our start?

    My dad always had a passion for puzzles and woodworking, a love he shared with my brother and me. So when he decided to take the leap in 2003, it was only natural that his business would center around them.

    His dream grew over the years into the family business he always pictured, with my brother Pete, my mom and a great group of people like Justin and Kevin all working in the shop.

    None of which would have been possible without your support.

  5. What makes our products unique?

    Dave Janelle (my dad) invented Penny Drop in 2015 and we still make it in our Hudson, Florida workshop. If it isn't Creative Crafthouse, it isn't Penny Drop.

    We make Stewart Coffin and Martin Gardner puzzles with their permission.

    Our puzzles run five levels: Easy, Intermediate, Hard, Expert and Impossible. The Impossible Puzzle Series carries our 11 out of 10 difficulty rating.

    Our Penny Drop lids come in raintree, maple or cherry and are made in our Hudson Florida shop.

    We are the home of the original Penny Drop game.

    The Original. After the pieces are run on the laser machine we add some finishing touches before final cleaning, sanding, & assembly.

  9. Meet Pete!

    AKA my brother. He makes sure the shop is running, runs the CNC machine and designed Einstone II for our Impossible Puzzle Series.

  10. This is Justin

    Justin is the heart and soul of the laser machine room. He keeps the puzzle pieces flowing for the rest of the shop to work on.

    AKA Deb, she & my brother run the show at Creative Crafthouse. She handles all of the day to day activities & assembles puzzles.

  13. Why do we love what we do?

    Growing up we always played games. Family game nights were the best nights.

    Sitting around a table with a game brought us closer as a family, and my brother and I still bring up times from 20 to 25 years ago and laugh about them.

    Puzzles are the same kind of fun. Every step closer to a solution is a challenge you set for yourself because you wanted to. No batteries required.

    That's why we make both, from puzzles like Calibron 12 to our own Penny Drop, classics like Cribbage and historical games like Nine Men's Morris.
